A very curious Speckles

P-Pirdle had to check out the action too.

P-Pirdle wanted to help. "These birdhouses are way to small for you birds!"

GAK!

Gak, Flarp, Slime, Flubber-
A fun science experiment that doubles as a great, inexpensive homemade gift for all those millions of birthday parties the kids will attend.
All it takes is some Elmer's Glue, Borax, water and food coloring. (Recipe to follow)

Mix together 8 oz Elmer's Glue with 3/4 cup water and add food coloring. Dissolve 1 tablespoon Borax (found in laundry aisle) in 1/4 cup warm water.

Take a popsicle stick or tooth pick and dip it into the glue, then stir it in the borax solution until no more will clump on stick. Take off of stick and repeat over and over. Mix up more Borax solution as needed. Play with Gak to blend it. Store in canning jar or other airtight container.

Garden Fresh

Homemade Mother's Day flower arrangement.

The ladies from my garden group (Diggs), many of whom happen to be Master Gardeners, brought in buckets of fresh flowers from their gardens this month. During our meeting we were able to craft our own arrangements. You should have seen some of the beautiful flowers the members are growing right in their own back yards. I've got a lot to learn from all the gals at Diggs. I'm the "baby" of the group and extremely novice compared to everyone. One day my garden will look like theirs, thanks to my friend Robin who introduced me to Diggs.

I gave my arrangement to my Mom for Mother's Day.
